Some of these songs I grew up singing while my mother played the piano in our little church in small town Copeland, KS (pop. 290). This CD has such traditional greats as 'Mansion Over the Hilltop', the medley 'I Saw the Light / I'll Fly Away', my haunting version of 'Wayfaring Stranger', my wife's favorite hymn 'Suppertime', and finally 'Life's Railway to Heaven'. There is a great joy that awaits us in Heaven once we leave this old troubled world behind. My song 'Joy Sweet Joy' tells of that excitement and the song 'Too Much Trouble' reveals how we all sometime fail at helping others out. 'Crown of Thorns' relives The Passion of Jesus Christ and I wonder sometimes to myself, 'would I let one of our sons go through what Jesus had to endure for me? or you?' That answer is no, but HE did! One of most requested songs of all time is the one I wrote after pushing cattle through the Cimarron River in northern Oklahoma. That experience is captured in 'Ridin' Along the Cimarron'.back to top
