Trivia question: who's the youngest male artist in history to score four Top 40 singles? That's right-Nick Carter's little brother. And now, for double or nothing: who's the oldest person in America who can name all four of them? Not us. Obviously, Aaron Carter is too big a star to qualify as an "underground" phenomenon, but nonetheless he made it big while flying under all adult radar. Even the most rabid teenpop hater among grown-ups could have named a Britney, Backstreet or *NSYNC hit in '99. But Aaron was a stealthy lad, and the vehicles he rode to stardom-the Pokemon soundtrack, Radio Disney, his own Nickelodeon show-were generally left unmonitored by most non-kids (and non-parents). So how will maturity leave its mark on the younger Carter? This best-of postpones the inevitable: he hasn't dropped a studio album since 2002's Another Earthquake; around that time he also started performing John Lennon's "Imagine" in concert. Cross your fingers.
