This album began as a play in Los Angeles in 2000 and has been stripped down to a handful of songs accompanied by voice over texts It explores the Mexican-American experience in the 20th century and the search for the American Dream ESCOVEDO wrote most of the material and this has been described as" a work of rare depth" the songs move forward in time from the early 1990's through WW2 to the Vietnam War.
