Packing more rock savvy than most members of the alterna-rock Boy's Club and more melody than her Riot Grrrl counterparts, the rhythms and riffs of Palmyra Delran's songs stand out in the punk rock landscape. Wielding her guitar like a carving knife and using her voice as the most potent of spices, she sprinkles her music liberally with powerful rhythms and textures, garnishing it with sugary melodies and acerbic lyrics. As the founder, songwriter and creative soul of "trashy pop band" The Friggs, Palmyra built a working model for the ideal punk girl group. They released debut CD 'Rock Candy' and singles collection 'Today is Tomorrow's Yesterday', toured incessantly throughout the '90s, opening for the Selecter, the Ramones, Cheap Trick among others, and were included in the movies 'Superbad', 'Jawbreaker', 'Lipstick & Dynamite', and 'Prey for Rock & Roll'. Now, on her solo debut EP titled 'She Digs the Ride', Palmyra flirts with charm, surf rock, dysfunctional relationships, and solid guitar grooves. Palmyra's song 'Baby Should Have Known Better' was picked by Little Steven as the 'Coolest Song in the World' in November '08, then voted 'Coolest Song of 2008' by Underground Garage listeners! Note: Find the secret track 'Sunny Day' a love song sung in Pig Latin.
